I really like the way you presented this. I have recently been refreshing my math studies since it’s been a while since I’ve had formal training, so I am very interested in your thoughts in other areas, especially statistics and probability. Thanks for sharing!

That’s okay, because math foundations is a really interesting topic to me as well. I remember building the real numbers from the Peano Axioms and having a head 💥 in a Real Analysis course! I look forward to more of your articles.

I hope I don’t disappoint. If you’re studied real number analysis, you’re probably way more of a mathematician than I ever will be.

I do plan to circle back over that naturals-to-reals progression in more detail and to explore countable vs uncountable infinities. And the odd corners of math that fascinate me. (Like x⁰… =1 or =0 or undefined?)

Thank you very much! I'm afraid stats and probability are subjects I've largely avoided. I'm a retired software guy with a lot of geeky interests (like quantum physics and math foundations). I try to write for people who are interested and curious but don't have much experience with it.

This is lovely.

Maths was my first love and I made it halfway through a maths degree long ago until work got in the way. I haven't been interested since. Just reading about number sets rekindled a little of that love.

Thank you.

You’re very welcome! I’m glad you got something from it. Part 2 is up, if you want to continue the fun.

Perhaps you could write about compactness or continuity . , godels proof

Of incompleteness which logically names everything and proves trues can be outside of proof can exist ! Just a thought challenge to make that easy to grasp .schrodinger’s equation is another

I did write a little about Gödel’s Incompleteness theorems in a recent post.

I have considered a post on Cantor’s Continuum, Turing’s Halting, and Gödel’s Incompleteness, as they’re all based on the same underlying notion.

Schrödinger gets into quantum mechanics, and while I can explain basically what Schrödinger equation is all about, I’m not enough of a math maven to actually solve the partial differential equations involved, and that makes me a bit leery of writing about it.

To be honest, though, I’m not sure how much math I’ll write about here. These posts don’t do well, but they’re a lot of work. Found the same thing on my old blog. Math posts were my least read posts. If you’re interested in math, you might find some nuggets there:

Thanks. This was an area of study in my university days but they are not for all . I’m very new here but I applaud efforts
